Aim

Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA) is one of the enforcing agencies of the "Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance". Over the years, TELA has strived to combat the publication of obscene and indecent articles. However, enforcement alone does not suffice to safeguard the healthy development of youngsters. TELA therefore set up the Healthy Information Resource Centre with a view to offering support to teachers, parents and social workers in providing proper guidance and counselling to youngsters in order to enhance their ability to deal with objectionable information and minimize the adverse effects of such materials on them.

Resources

The Centre has a large collection of reference materials on the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance and other relevant topics, including media education, sex education and a wide range of child and teen issues. Available in the format of book, study report, video tape, audio tape, CD-ROM or teaching kit, these materials are provided for the public's reference in the Centre.

Facilities

The Centre provides TV sets, multimedia PC systems, hi-fi equipment, etc. to facilitate public access to the reference materials.

Group Visits

Group visits to the Resource Centre are welcome. The enrolment form can be downloaded here (PDF format).
