Publicity and Public Education Activities on
the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance (COIAO)

Other than surveillance inspections and enforcement actions, a variety of public education activities are launched each year by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA). Other than two popular programmes of Point@Media Programme and the Meritorious Websites Contest, which are well received by students, TELA conducts over 200 school talks and more than 100 workshops for parents every year and distributes free filtering software. In addition, two new programmes, viz. the Healthy Information Student Ambassadors Scheme and the Healthy Internet Video Contest, were introduced in 2009.
