Divisions - Entertainment Division
Functions
The functions of the Entertainment Division are:
to deal with matters relating to entertainment licences;
to monitor publication of obscene and indecent articles;
to administer film classification;
to facilitate development of local film industry; and
to provide administration services to department.
Organization
The Entertainment Division, headed by an Assistant Commissioner, has four sub-divisions:
Licensing: comprises the Licensing and Newspapers Registration Sections;
Film: responsible for film censorship and classifications;
Film Services: facilitating film production in Hong Kong, promoting Hong Kong films and responsible for special effects related licensing work;
Administration: responsible for the personnel, establishment, finance, translation and administrative matters of the department.
